John McPherson
« on: Wednesday 28 November 18 21:22 GMT (UK) »
I can’t for the life of me fine John McPherson on the Gro register,I’ve searched all the possible dates for the the info below.
I have his baptism which has his birth being 28 Aug 1860
I have 1861 Census which shows him as 7 months.
1871 census has him being 13
1881 census has him being 20
1891 census I have him 30
Additional Details:
mother:Prudence Tartlin 1832-1901

Father: Charles McPherson 1834-1908

Siblings: Charles-1853, Frederick-1855, Elizabeth-1858, Sarah-1865, Walter-1867, Maria-1870, Prudence-1863, Charles-1872

Any suggestions as to why he wouldn’t be showing up on the gro website?

Not all births were registered; regulations tightened in mid 1870s.

Were any of his siblings registered? Have you looked for surname variations?

Maybe he could have been registered as James, I didn’t even think to look as first name variation. I did look as second name and mother’s maiden name variation. Totally forgot about first names. Thank you both for your help :)
