Birth location ??

Sarah Dobson married Thomas Gage Blythe 1842 Scarborough. In 1851 they are living in New Malton and she is shown as being born 1820 Mainton Dale/Martindale. In 1861 they are in Staxton and she is shown as being born 1829 Harrow Dale. The best that I could find is Martindale farm near Pocklington but there is no way to find how long that name has been in existence.
Anyone have any ideas?

I think Martindale farm near Pocklington is listed at the moment as a caravan park http://www.rootschat.com/links/01n3s/

Looking at the same location on old maps there are no farms shown on the site https://maps.nls.uk/view/102344881#zoom=5&lat=7807&lon=11318&layers=BT

In 1861 the family are living adjacent to a number of Dobsons living in Staxton and listed as born in the village.   Could they be related??

Could you look for historical maps of Pocklington? Sometimes you can get a rough date from there

Do you know anything more about Thomas Gage Blythe? His parents?

Just a thought - looking on Family Search for other people born in  Harrowdale Yorkshire I found three including this one who is earlier listed as born in Harwood Dale, Yorkshire https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X7PF-CSD  and this one  Emily Heigham https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q27B-9DL8   

With the latter also living with the family on the next page is Emily's mother Rebecca Spite/Spile listed as born Harwood Dale in 1816.

Staintondale?
From Wikipedia:
Staintondale is a small village and civil parish in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire, England. The village is situated 7 miles north west of Scarborough town centre.

And Staintondale is next door to Harwood Dale

I agree that Sarah's birthplace in 1851 says Staintondale rather than Maintondale, though the mistranscription is understandable.

The beginning of the name looks much more like the "St" placenames elsewhere on the page (especially Stonegrave, a few lines down) than the "M" placenames such as Malton for the first entry on the page.

So it appears that she was born in the Staintondale/Harwood Dale area.
