Jessica/Jessie Wilson's parents (from what I've been given from a half cousin) were James Wilson & Jessie Morland but don't have any further records on them.
This can be confirmed from the 1903 marriage certificate; then you can research further back.

This looks to be James Wilson and Jessie Morland in 1881:

James Wilson 34 Railway Engine Driver b. Galashiels, Peeblesshire
Jessie Wilson 31 b. Wigtonshire, Stranraer
Mary Wilson 9 b. Glasgow
Bella Wilson 7 b. Glasgow
James Wilson 4 b. Glasgow

Address: 385 Caledonia Road, Glasgow Hutchesontown

Family Search index show the first two daughters' details as:

Mary Foster Wilson b. 17 Jun 1872 TRADESTON,GLASGOW
Bella Donald Wilson b. 21 Oct 1874 TRADESTON,GLASGOW

Parent show as James Wilson and Jessie Morland on FS www.familysearch.org/search

I think Jessie wife of James Wilson died young. There is a death in Hamilton in 1886 for a 36yr old Jessie Wilson/Morland.

James must have remarried as I think this is him and children in 1891:

James Wilson 44 rail engine driver b. Selkirkshire, Galashiels
Janet Wilson 37 b. Ireland
Bella Wilson 16 b. Glasgow
James Wilson 13 b. Glasgow
Jessie Wilson 8 b. Hamilton
Jane Wilson 7 b. Glasgow
Helen Wilson 5 b. Glasgow
Janet Marton 76 g mother b. Ireland

Address: 77 Beckford St, Hamilton, Lanarkshire

If the 76yr old Janet Marton (from the transcript) is actually wife Janet's mother and name should be Martin (original image is best), there is a marriage in Bridgeton Glasgow in 1887 for a James Wilson and Janet Martin.

Oli, plenty there from Josey's notes above and mine to let you get some details and verifications to make headway with your research hopefully.

Thanks, I think this might be of another family with similar details.  From details of their marriage certificate,  they were married in 1871 in Tradeston. It lists James Wilson as 24 & Jessie Morland which would put their years of births as around 1847 & 1850 respectively.  They both died before their daughter Jessie got married in 1903 but have not found anywhere confirming as to when they died.

Their daughter Jessie was born 23rd December 1881 with her birth being registered about a month later.  She married Joseph Malcom in 1903 but I'm not sure of when she died.

Unfortunately can't seem to attach either file mentioned as they seem to be too big a file.

This was mentioned earlier:

A Jessie Malcolm, other surname Wilson, aged 73 died in 1956 in the Pollok area of Glasgow. This year is within the time frames to view cert online.

You mentioned that Jessie stated on her 1903 marriage that both her parents were deceased.

We think that her mother may have died in 1886 (the death cert will let you confirm her details to let you be certain).

Husband James may have remarried a Janet Martin? He shows with a Janet b. Ireland in 1891.

There are a number of possible death certs that could fit for James Wilson between 1891-1903, some in Hutchesontown, where Jessie married in 1903.

I think it may have been before 1901 as there is this possible 1901 census entry for Jessie with step mother Janet in Hutchesontown:

Janet Wilson 48 chandler b. Ireland
Jessie Wilson 18 chandler b. Hamilton

Address: 756 Rutherglen Rd. Glasgow/ Hutchesontown

What address did Jessie give on her 1903 marriage? Occupation for father and herself? Witnesses to marriage?
