New program starting Monday 3rd Dec - My Family Secrets Revealed

I got this notification today from Ancestry on FB

It’s on every day at 1.05pm on Channel 4... I don’t know if it’s a brand new program or not 

I shall be recording it, fingers crossed 🤞 it will be interesting.

This is the synopsis for it:

A brand new series that helps the British public connect directly with their family history. Using a team of genealogical and historical experts, the show helps people to find hidden treasure buried deep in their families' pasts... everyone involved should expect the unexpected! In the first episode, it's an emotional journey for terminally ill Julie Coates from Liverpool, who wants to find out if her ancestor really did jump ship in America and disown his family. Fitness fanatic Peter Sariwee finds out if his estranged father really was a WWII hero. And history student Emma Litva-Bailey discovers the true origins of her name.

Sounds good, I'm sure I remember someone from Channel 4 posting on here about this earlier in the year asking if people were interested in applying to be on the show.

That wasn't meant to sound disparaging - I watch WDYTYA for the family history rather than the celebrities.

Sounds like a really good opportunity for people to have access to records which they might not find through Ancestry/Findmypast etc.

Thanks jc26red for bringing this new programme to our attention. As it's not 'celeb' based it will be great to see natural reactions to the findings from the ordinary folk like us.... how refreshing.

Just to clarify is it definitely TV show and is it channe 4 or bbc channel
I don't have a TV but can watch playback at my sisters
It clashes with Leicester community radio daytime programme called "deep and meaningful " which happens to be a young lady who I introduced to the radio..I missed her first show and really want to support her
BTW I will be producing my own radio program called "history mysteries "
I think we have many non celebrity people who wanted to to resolve mysteries but include finding living relatives ..or a whatever became of ...old neighbours .teachers .
I'm hoping to turn a weekly show into a daily show
Wdytya has lots of fans but can I get radio listenerst?

Thanks brigid' I'm looking forward to watching this programme, nice to see it's about ordinary folk rather than these so called celebs... who most of us haven't heard of!
Could be watching whilst deep in Christmas card making, I say every year I'm going to make them more simplistic but never do!!
Is your radio programme on a Chanel that everyone can listen to or just related to your area... where ever that is!
