New program starting Monday 3rd Dec - My Family Secrets Revealed

My apologies - I didn't watch it, so I'm not talking from first-hand experience.

BUT - Blimey - are you never satisfied?  You don't like the "celebrities" and now you don't like the "riff-raff".

It's a TV programme - since when do they dig very deeply into any subject - they're for ENTERTAINMENT 

 

Watch the show and then you will be able to make a value judgement for yourself.

No one has said anything about not liking the program because it featured ordinary people. It just wasn't very good , or entertaining for that matter.

Having just watched it on catchup I tend to agree with others comments.

The stories themselves could have been made much more interesting if they'd devoted more time and at least given some ideas as to how and where they got some of the information.

BUT my biggest complaint with the programme is the constant reminder of what's going to happen next and reintroducing people after the adverts! I just kept saying come on get on with it.... they could have elaborated more on each persons story- very frustrating and annoying.... not blessed with much patience ....but do they think we have the attention span if a gnat that we can't remember who's next for goodness sake..

Will I watch it again well I might give it another go on catch up.

There are a couple of shows in OZ like that. OH & I watch them on the very odd occasion when there is nothing else on

I thought the programme poor. It's a (not very) disguised advert for Anc*stry. Their name (and logo) are in the titles. I think the idea is to show the range of documents they can provide, not just BMD but Immigration, Military etc. -

This is known in the Trade as "Demand Generation" - i.e. promotion to get more people to use (and pay for) a service.

The actual family stories seemed very superficial and almost trivial. The endless introductions, recaps and repeats are a feature of many daytime programmes. Cut out these, and the adverts, and the prog is about 25 minutes long - time for four little stories.

....  Not for me, sorry.

I agree with the consensus here.  As soon as I saw the familiar green leaves my heart dropped.  I think this is a barely-disguised money spinner - jumping on the trendy FH band wagon.

I'm going to give it a miss.

Episode 2 (today) is so much better... still got endless recaps and time wasting but so far much much better.

Phew.  Now why wasn’t this one the first episode?
