Yes, on Google Play, search for VLC for Android.  When you try playing your video, if you are prompted to download an additional CODEC, you should do so.

Hi, just downloaded the app ,  deleted all images from camera, took a short video  connected  camera to tablet.
Then  opened Gallery, an image is there, imported file .
Problem is it only shows a still image . not a video.

Am I missing something.  When I opened the app it picked up other videos I took on the tablet previously but not this one today on the camera.
 ???

What file extension does your new film have?  Images should be jpg, bmp, png, img or Gif. Films should be mp4, avI, mov,

I'm not sure if you can attach a file to a Pm, but I'd be happy to look at it. Otherwise PM me and I'll send my email address,

I'll update this by saying that I've had an exchange of personal messages with the original poster, and she was able to play a short AVI format video which I sent her, on her tablet. We now think that possibly her camera transfer program just won't transfer AVI files as it believes that the tablet won't be able to play them. She has been able to play the one that I sent her. I'm not familiar with Samsung cameras so perhaps somebody else can take over here?

   Thanks , It`s a Samsung Android Tablet .

It`s a Fujifilm camera,  and I have two , a compact and a bridge for better photos, (but it`s quite bulky)  I`ve just checked the Bridge one and again it has the same format. I was thinking of getting a new Practika,  but  on checking specs   it  is also  AVI.

 Compact Fuji
Digital Video Format AVI, MJPEG
Image Recording Format JPEG

Bridge Fuji
File format still image JPEG (Exif Ver 2.3 )*3
(Design rule for Camera File system compliant / DPOF-compatible) movie
AVI (Motion JPEG ) sound WAVE format, Monaural sound

I`m wondering now if I check file formats before I buy a new camera and try to find one that isn`t AVI , will that solve the problem.
It`s not a huge issue but would really be so convenient.
