Hi
In the same parish of Chelsea is a Mathew and Ann Channer nee Cordey married at St George Hannover Square 1807 printer having children.
Mathew bapt 19 March 1786 -17.2.1829 Arthur St died of Asthma.
I'd suggest he might be William's  brother with possible  parents George and Sarah who had other sons  Thomas at Chelsea 19 May 1782 and John Frederick 22 Nov 1789 born 1 August,(various spellings of their surname.)

George Channer and Sarah Hill married at St James Westminster 13 May 1781
George s of Mathew and Mary at Ivinghoe  Bucks 14 July 1756 tallow chandler

I can't see a baptism for William though

Hello
Sorry not to get back to you earlier
Yes that does look good.
I found the Will for Mathew Channer and saw the marriage and baptism for William Channer.
It does look like the family and being a soldier William could well have been a bit older when he married Jarius.

There is also a PCC Will for George's brother William Channer a grocer in 1797 which leaves a silver watch to William Channer son of his brother James.
William and James's sister Elizabeth's Will of 1829 gives bequests to sister Sarah and brother James.Made 4 April 1806 .However James has died by 3 Sep 1829 and can't executor the Will.
He may be the James Channer buried at St Mary Lambeth 11.9.1828 age 81 of Bennetts Buildings.
It looks like James was also a grocer.

A family tree on ancestry has a miniature painting of James's son George who went to Jamaica

hi

i now linked to william  december  1784

what do you think about a burial 1 april 1834 (born 1789) age 45
holy trinity islington
age is out a little

do you know is there any thing about his life as a soldier ?

or what happened to jarius ?
i think i found a marriage 20 July 1817 westminster  st Martin in the field
to a thomas castle from IGI  . on ancestry but only transcription
i have not looked at record  to see if she is a widow
