Eliza Hogg b1859 Norwich, Norfolk.

A bit confused,  Eliza Hogg is my Husbands Great Gran,  we have her down with Charles Codling in Norfolk in 1891 census,  since found that it appears she has been married before,  if I am correct I found a marriage in 1877 Norwich, Norfolk to George Smith,  but but what is a bit of a mystery is she is on 1881 Census in Norwich, Norfolk with children and a William Smith,  Im sure it is her as in 1891 census with Charles Codling the children are with her. I have a Birth Cert of Isaac Smith and father is George Smith.  If anyone can find anything else it would be very much appreciated,  I cannot find a marriage to a William Smith neither can I find a Marriage to Charles Codling.

Thought I'd look at the 1891 census you mention but cannot find a Charles Codling with an Eliza - can you please give the reference for this so that I can find it?

Hi
I m getting confused too :)
Children with George and Eliza Smith have mmn Hogg as do children with Charles Codling (Rachael Elizabeth, Ethel, Eliza, Charles)
I see Rachael and Ethel are possibly in an orphan home in 1901
I did see a marriage in 1890 Norwich for a Charles Codling to Eliza Spauls
There is a possible marriage Norwich1885 for a Eliza Smith and a Robert Spauls ( same page only)and a death  for a Robert Spauls before 1890.
Doesn't explain why she would have used her maiden name for childrens birth.

It makes logical sense but can't be sure

Dec 1877
Eliza Hogg to George Smith

Jun 1885
Eliza Smith to Robert Spauls

Dec 1890
Eliza Spauls to Charles Codling

All her children would have maiden name Hogg wouldn't they, sounds right to me.

Hi,  thank you all,  Eliza did die a Codling and children were in a Home,  Hubbies Gran Eliza (Nellie) was taken in by a family called Barton and lived in West Ham, Essex.

So she may have married 3 times,  I will look at the other marriage and see,  its all a bit of a mystery, the Smith marriage has only just come to light and I am sure what I have there is correct as the children were with her and Charles Codling.

Thank you
