I have not seen this information before, thank you so much for sharing it with me. It is possible as there are not that many Charles Sweetlands and they move back and forth between Yarcombe and chard. Thank you

Ahh OK, thank you very much. He was registered as Charles Cole (his mother's surname) but then Louisa married his father Nathaniel 2 years later. He is in the 1861 census with them and is likely the servant above in the 1971 census. I just don't know what happens to him after that. In 1892 there is a Charles Sweetland in the right area who gets into a fight and is stabbed but survives, a brother called James is mentioned as a witness, but this may or may not be my Charles (British Newspaper Archives).
