One sore sparrow hawk

Any thoughts on why the plaintiff gave the deforciants one sore sparrow-hawk, and what a sore sparrow-hawk was please?  (Date: Tuesday the feast of St Petronills the Virgin 1323)

Haverfordwest Borough Records: FINAL CONCORD in a fine levied in the court of Aylmer de Valence, lord of Haverford, before Richard Symond, steward of Haverford, in the presence of John Intighe and John Drym, reeves of the said town, John de Cumba, and Robert Tancard, between William Folk, clerk, plaintiff, and Philllp Bernard son of John Bernard and Eva formerly the wife of John Bernard, deforciants, when the deforciants acknowledged one burgage in Haverford to be the right of the plaintiff. For which plaintiff gave to the deforciants one sore sparrow-hawk. Latin.   Torn.

Courtesy of google ( I simply searched for one sore sparrow hawk) "sore" meant a sparrow hawk under one year old.There are lots of references to the expression in particular in google books. Looking at the date falconry was widespread .The google books result " The Annals of West  Coker" seems to have a good explanation.

Thank you all, very enlightening.  Yes, looks as though Aylmer de Valence and Aymer de Valance are one and the same.  William Folk was certainly in auspicious company.  (I was suffering from google fatigue having spent time searching "Folk" and "Cardigan" - you can imagine the results I got for that!).
