McGeough/McGogh/McGough of Tyrone
« on: Wednesday 05 December 18 23:45 GMT (UK) »
Bernard & Sarah McGough/Mcgogh/McGeough

Both born Tyrone

Bernard approx 1850
Sarah approx 1853

I haven’t been able to confirm maiden name of Sarah.

Going off the ages on the 1881 census of Lanchester Durham, England
They had the following children in Durham, ages again off census..

Rose A McGeough approx 1874
Thomas McGeough approx 1877
William McGeough approx 1879-1909
John McGeough approx 1881-1947
James McGeough ??
Isabella McGeough ??

The spelling of the surname varies on different records.

Any help or anyone researching the same family would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks x

Sorry I can't help but marking this page as a friend has McGough/Gaffney in Bishop Auckland, Durham around the same time i.e. could be related?

Thank you so much for all this info, I will add it into my tree and see how I go with it :)

The generations of McGoughs that we knew and also those that are living are from the Blaydon area.

Can anyone see anything that advises what Bernard’s parents are called?

Just before I look at purchasing a birth certificate.
Do I order Irish certs just off the GRO website?

Many thanks
Lisa

Where are you seeing a birth record in Ireland for Bernard McGEOUGH?

You have given this information -

Rose A McGeough approx 1874
Thomas McGeough approx 1877
William McGeough approx 1879-1909
John McGeough approx 1881-1947
James McGeough ??
Isabella McGeough ??

You knew about James and Isabella but did not have any birth year. Where do you see them....and with no age indication?

You have death year for William (1909) and John (1947).  Can you give information about their marriages and children.

Are you a direct descendant of anyone named here?

Hi Wivenhoe

Going back to my original post, the information I have is just what I have found on a census.
It states on there the names and location of birth.

My last post states the direct ancestors line.

Bernard and Sarah’s son John is Great grandfather and his son Thomas is Grandfather.

I am looking for info on Bernard and Sarah then their parents onwards of that makes sense!

Regards
Lisa
