I didn't mean a opening a new search, although that does sometimes work.
FindMyPast's opening page allows one to enter a name etc. and only requires one to sign in when one tries to open a particular result. Ancestry used to do the same but no longer appears to do so. I have to admit it is some time since I had to resort to trying this trick, I don't use Ancestry much these days.
Active links are now (after 13/04/2018) indicated by bold red italics. Just click on them.
The only stupid question is the one not asked

WILSON; Lancs, Lanrks.
BERRY; Lancs.
BORASTON; Salop, Worcs,
TYLER; Salop, Herefords.

Rather than type in the first name and surname search, I tend to type in the "What Else" search and add speech marks such as "James Slater" and I tend to get more relevant results. Maybe it is just me, but I find that can help.

It is annoying when you type in the surname search and get verbs.

The 1871 family are to be found at RG 10 / 3236 / 2/ 24, at Hyde Pastures, Watling Street Road.

In 1881 they are at RG 11 / 3132 / 81 / 4, but Frederick isn't with them

Watling Street Road

Well the cert I sent for is NOT my Frederick.. so back to it..

He does seem to have become Alfred
