Michaell Beacocke and Bettris Reder
« on: Thursday 06 December 18 20:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone!

My 10x great grandparents were Michaell Beacock(e) and Bettris Reder. I was wondering if anyone could help me find more information on them, please?

What I know:
  • Michaell and Bettris married on 17th November 1612 in Appleby, Lincolnshire.
  • They had 3 children that I know of: Agnes (1615-?), Anthony (1624-?) and Matthew (1627-1686).
  • Michaell passed away in 1644 and was buried on either 6th or 7th July 1644 in Appleby, Lincolnshire.

Thank you so much for your help in advance. I know that it is sometimes difficult at this stage to find out information, but this has been a brick wall for a long time. I would love to find more clues!

Tony.

Parish registers for Appleby start around 1600 so it is doubtful you would find any earlier information from church records

Hi rosie99,

I thought the parish records started in 1570? I'm just struggling to find anything else about them, even into the 1600s. It's a shame that more information wasn't recorded about events. :(

I was only going by the availability of films on familysearch, nothing before 1599.  I now see that lincstothepast have them back to 1570 - images to browse  though those I have looked at are illegible

Fair enough! Yes I know, they're awful to try and read. I wish they photograph them again, as technology is a lot better now, meaning scanners etc are much better!

I have no idea when Lincs RO would have filmed them.  They say they are 'parchment' and almost completely illegible.  Good thing about Lincolnshire records is that we can see them for nothing.  :)

Yes I know, and so we should! We should be able to see everything for free!

Someone has to pay for this information to be digitised for the convenience of those of us doing our family history.  I don't see why the council tax payer should have to foot the bill for our 'hobby'  :)

Anthony, have you googled those names. It brings up quite a few connections.
