It may be worth looking at his mothers' death to see if he was the informant?

It may give an address if so?

Thanks Annie - I think I have him now, at least up until 1911.  It seems from Scotlands People that he did not remain in New Kilpatrick, but there are too many options to go through.

So he must be the  1901 entry I found as that is where he was living with his in-laws in 1901?

Are you sure about him as that's an even bigger jump from a farmer to an accountant???

CarolW - the accountant role was off track. He was a manufacturing agent until he got married, lived on the farm then his father-in-law died. At that stage, he took over the running of the farm.
