Best Sources for Postmen
« on: Friday 07 December 18 19:20 GMT (UK) »
Dear all

Wondering what the best sources might be for records of my Grandfather Fred Pyne who became a Postman at some stage after a busy WW1 and 18 months or so in the Corps of Commissionaires (left them in Oct 1920). He lived in the Camberwell/Lewisham area South London - (b1894) Interested to know what I might learn possibly through Post Office records.

Thanks

Jeremy

Thanks and yes will check that out I’ve been a bit stumped as my chap does not come up in a search of the appointment books. I have a photo of him in his posties’s uniform  there’s no doubt he was in the service.
