There may be info. out there in archives which require visiting in person, sifting through masses of info. which could take days if not weeks i.e. not things you can look-up references for as there's so much which isn't online & most likely there's more not online than there is in general other than BMDs & Census'?

One other thing which has just came to mind;

My guess is the Sinclair name possibly drifted down from Orkney?
