Ramsey Burials - PALMER c1800
« on: Saturday 08 December 18 11:47 GMT (UK) »
Morning all,

I was wondering if anyone could assist with some Ramsey burials for me please?

I'm not sure what/how many details the Parish registers show for burials? Could someone confirm? I've only managed to look at Births and Marriages.

I believe that these were the only family of Palmers in Ramsey at the time.

William Palmer b. Unknown, death c1799.
William Palmer b. 1768
John Palmer b. 1771
Thomas Palmer b. 1774
George Palmer b. 1779

Any anyone could help with any of their deaths, that would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at Free BMD index for deaths?  Starts from Sep 1837 so if they were alive after that date should be on there  :)

Hi MongoUK,

I have a line of Palmers living in Ramsey but somewhat later than your time frame. My line starts with Thomas Palmer, twin brother of my grandfather Bartholomew, who was born about 1825 at Wigsthorpe which is almost due west from Ramsey over the border in Northamptonshire. My first sighting of him at Ramsey is the 1851 Census when he is a farm labourer living at Great Whyte. I have often wondered if there is a connection to other Ramsey Palmers but my research so far is without success. I cannot find a birth for his father, also Thomas, born about 1785 supposedly in Northamptonshire The accuracy of the 1841 Census is by no means guaranteed so if you find a potential candidate in your line I would love to hear more and exchange details.
Hope I have not hijacked your thread  ::)

Thank you Margaret.

Could you possibly check a few years after 1800?

Sadly, it looks like the Ann, wife of William in 1779 was in the same year as the birth of George, who looks to then die in 1780. How very sad.

Thanks
