Searching for a burried relative in Dysart
« on: Saturday 08 December 18 12:01 GMT (UK) »
My great great great Grandmother Helen Sutherland was buried in Dysart in 1879 according to her death certificate. I cannot find her grave stone or anything to indicate where exactly she rests.
She was married to Benjamin Sutherland who was born in Gallatown KDY. He died many years earlier but I cannot find his death cert or anything about him. One son, Charles has signed the death cert . The other son was called John.
Can anyone possibly help me find out where Helen's grave might be ?

Andy S.

Hi Andy,

Welcome to RootsChat. :)

I presume KDY is Kirkcaldy in Fife, Scotland?

You might have more luck if you posted this on the Scotland Forum?  I don't know if a Moderator could move your post?.

Good luck,

Kit

Added: I now see that your search for Helen's burial is in Dysart, but still in Fife, Scotland

Welcome to rootschat

Presumably this is the family in Edinburgh in 1851
Benjamin Sutherland age 34
Helen 40
John 11
Isabella 9
Mary 7
Charles 4
Benjamin was bn Fife the rest were born Edinburgh

By 1861 Helen was widowed and living Newington, Midlothian

Have you considered this death for Benjamin (Scotlands people)
Benjamin SUTHERLAND
age 43
Year 1859
Ref 685/2 37
Reg district St Andrew (Edinburgh)
