Birth in Bavaria or North Rhine-Westphalia
« on: Sunday 09 December 18 10:33 GMT (UK) »
Theresia Henkelmann was born on 16 August 1927 in Schwarzenau but I do not know if this is Schwarzenau am Main  in Bavaria or Schwarzenau in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Can you find the registration of her birth?

To be able to help we really need a bit more info. There are quite a lot of places called Schwarzenau.
i.e.where were other members of the family born?

Hi Dave

I regret that I do not know anything about her relatives in West Germany.  She emigrated to Australia and her marriage certificate shows her date and place of birth as previously advised.  If only marriage certificates in the UK included as much info as those in NSW!

Kind Regards (mfg!)
Nick

Hi Nick,

have you tried the National Archives in Australia?  Her immigration papers are not on line yet, so you would have to apply for them.

Does the marriage record give her father's name?

In the Bavarian WW1 personnel roster from 1918 the parents of Lorenz are stated as being

Georg and Marg. (Margarethe - Margaretha)
Henkelmann
born Möslein

Flußmeister ( a person responsible for the care and upkeep of waterways)
Schwarzenau
