Could this photo of my father be tidied up, please?
« on: Monday 10 December 18 19:47 GMT (UK) »
Could the creases, scratches and little marks and missing bits be repaired?

My father passed away in June this year. The photo was taken in about 1950 in Sasebo, Japan. I’ve been told he’s wearing a No.6 Royal Navy tropical uniform, although google is not helping me find out about this, so I also have a query on the Armed Forces board, hoping some of the Rootschat military experts could assist. https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=804939.0

Thanks
Lisa

Thank you, that's wonderful. Thank you both  for your time and trouble taken to do this.

He looks happy in that photo.

I can't ever remember my father looking anything but careworn. As he was a sick berth petty officer  I imagine he will have seen some awful things but would rarely speak of his time in the Navy.

Thank you to everyone - these are all wonderful. So many skilled and talented people here.

I have been wondering for years what the wooden thing dad has his hand on is. It looks like it should have one or two potted plants on it!

I was trying to work that one out too Lisa. It appears to have a lower shelf about knee height, but I can't tell if it folds out or not. I have never seen anything like this before  ;D ;D
