Archbold’s of craster - fishermen

Hi I’m looking on info on the Archbold fishermen that died at sea on 6th May 1913 Northumberland

From findagrave website:

Inscription 1.

The memory of
THOMAS WILLIAM beloved husband of MARY ELLEN ARCHBOLD
and eldest son of
JOHN & JANE E ARCHBOLD
Who lost his life at sea 6th May 1913 aged 39 years
Also the above MARY ELLEN ARCHBOLD died October 23rd 1945 aged 69 years


Inscription 2.
In memory of JOHN aged 65 years
Beloved husband of JANE ELIZABETH ARCHBOLD
also of EDWARD their son aged 35 years, who lost their lives at sea may 6th 1913
also the above JANE ELIZABETH ARCHBOLD dies August 2nd 1935 aged 85 years

John Archbold is my 5th great uncle.

Any info regarding this would be hugely appreciated

What sort of information are you looking for

Starter for 10 - the family in 1891, living in South Side. There are other Archbold families in the same street. All b Embleton (1901 says Craster)

Thanks Mabel, yes this is the correct family.

I hoping to find out the details of accident etc as I can’t find any record other than the grave stones.
Did they work for themselves?

And sadly touched by tragedy more than once. Can;t find a report of the 1913 event via my subs, but did find another incident in 1884, when the vessel Polar Star from Craster disappeared, with Edward Archbold, son William and nephew James aboard

Have found the references in a few papers searching for John Archbold.

Morpeth Herald 09 May 1913 , has an article about the family, the loss of life was due to the boat capsizing; details of the inquest  in another article
