my thought's were possibly Newcastle being his father's last Garrison.

Can you explain that one? How do you know his father was on garrison duty in Newcastle?

Hi Shaun, just trying to find a reason for John(junior) being in the area around the mid 1850's,another
Gtx2 grandfather Elijah Wayman was born in Camb's and was in the 1861 Cencus a soldier in a foot
regiment,in the 1871 cencus he's a civvie in Newcastle,and yet another Gtx2 Grandfather's brother was
Buckinghamshire  born and after 20 year's in the army settled in the 1880's near Alnwick, there were large Garrison's in Newcastle and Alnwick right into the 20th century.
