Both the Banns and the Marriage entry state William Offer and Elizabeth Browne.  Neither of them signed the register.

ADDED:  And it was you who suggested Alford - now I'm even more confused  :-[
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.

My apologies, I don't  quite understand your dilemma?  Are you just following a "tree", or have you done any research om your own research.

Try saying both 'offer' and 'alford' in a country accent - then you might understand where the two different ways of writing it come from.  ;)

From the snippet of the marriage entry, neither William nor Elizabeth seem to be literate so the parish clerk wrote what he heard.

I have similar problems in Wiltshire with Orchard, Archard, Archer.

Marriage registers at this date do not record parents' names or the ages of the couple involved.
