Robert MUIR (1784? - 1854) & Mary LIVINGSTON (1786? - 1854)
« on: Thursday 13 December 18 18:46 GMT (UK) »
Hi from Belgium.  Good evening everyone!

I'm starting my family tree, I didn't built it yet, I'm just collecting information.
I would really appreciate if you could help me.
I'm stuck with Robert Muir and Mary Livingston, I'm pretty sure they lived on Lynedoch Street in Greenock, I found a picture of their tomb stone, but it don't know where they were born, so I don't know on which website focus on my research.
I can't find for sure who Robert Muir's father was, there are so many, but the dates don't fit.

I really hope the answer to my question is not in a topic yet, I looked but couldn't find anything.

Thank you for reading me, thank you even more if you can help  :)

PS: I would really like to find my ancestors clan  8)

Cheers,

Mariève

Hi Mariève

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Just adding this as additional detail to your post:

http://thegreenockian.blogspot.com/2017/02/muir-of-newfoundland.html

There is mention there of Robert's brother being a Richard Muir. Have you tried researching him as sometimes going sideways can lead to more info. Robert and Mary called one of their sons Richard didn't they? Given the dates of birth for the children of Richard and wife, referred to in the blog, I am thinking that reference to Richard and Robert Snr being brothers may not be correct. Possibly Richard was the son of Robert and Mary  :-\

There is an entry on for a Will & Testament document for Robert. The index does not state what type of document it is:

Doing a parent search on FS doesn't throw up any other children to those parents
