Death of Sarah Bullman 1860 Ely Cambridgeshire
« on: Thursday 13 December 18 21:14 GMT (UK) »
I am have found a death on the GRO for a Sarah Bullman  registration june quarter 1860 aged stated as 79.  My Sarah would have been 74 given she was baptised 22 October 1786 in Soham

parents: William Bullman (sometimes 1 L) and Sarah Fletcher...

I have found Sarah on the 1841 census but not on the 1851 census yet.

I am wondering what the actual death certificate will show...

and if anyone can find her on the 1851 census.

Could she have be baptised as a child rather than as a baby?

EDIT: Just seen the baptism says born 21st October 1786.

If she is Bullman at birth and still Bullman in 1841 that suggests she never married.  The 1841 entry has her living as a member of James Bulman's family but as the 1841 does not show relationships it's difficult to tell if she is his mother or just a relative

In 1841 she is 60 so allowing for rounding she was born between 1781-1784

Geoff

Thanks.

Looking like I need the death certificate.  Might not tell me anymore though.....  I think she's unmarried  and that James is her son.  And he is bought up by his grandparents.  The bulman name is spelt one L sometimes  a d double 'LL other's.  Jamie's is baptized in little Thetford and his grave in St George's church little Thetford.  His children immigrated to Aus and Iowa in the States.
