John & Amelia Alderson Stone House
« on: Friday 14 December 18 00:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi, Im looking for confirmation on my 1st cousin 4x removed..

I’m wondering if the two who married are related??

John Alderson 1841-1921 Muker - Parents - John Alderson & Mary Fawcett

Amelia Alderson 1848-1937 Thwaite - parents John Alderson & Phillis Guy

Everything I’ve traced back has both of them with the surname Alderson.

I’m wondering if I’ve gone wrong somewhere?!

A link to some info about them found whilst searching..

John and Amelia were married in the Reeth Registration District in 1873.

There seems to be a number of potential Alderson-Alderson marriages in Reeth RD (& elsewhere)!

1859 Alice and William
1860 Mary & John
1861 Margaret & Thomas
1862 Mary & Jonathan
1868 Elizabeth Alice & Christopher
1874 Nanny & Ralph
1874 Jane & Jonathan

Plus others in County Durham and Northumberland!
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

The York Herald, 15 Feb 1873 has the "Alderson-Alderson" marriage notice of -

John Alderson, farmer, Stonehouse, eldest son of Mr John Alderson, Thorns?, to Amelia, third daughter of the late Mr John Alderson, of Thwaite, both of Swaledale.
