Folks,
John was born in 1820 in Yaxley,son of Wilson and Mary Dobbs,and in 1851 is with his parents in Yaxley.
The only further thing i can find is an 1856 marriage in Fletton to Jane Lee though father's name is transcribed as William.
Any help to prove this is not my John will be appreciated.

Looks like a first child, to the couple you mention, may be a William, followed by a John and Mary Ann, William George. All registered Peterborough.

Father John is age 26  (c1835) born Peterborough, mother Jane age 30

It does not appear to be your John

An entry on Roots Web World Connect identifies him in 1881 as a wheelwright, resident in Union  Workhouse, Banbury, Oxon. B c 1824.

Interesting that his parents, in 1851, should give year of birth as 1824. Is it possible that John, baptised 1820, was predeceased? Do you have his marriage certificate? Does it give his age?
