Battrick and Trim
« on: Saturday 15 December 18 15:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,
I am looking for a christening for George Battrick who was born circa 1801 at Langton, Dorset and also for his subsequent marriage to Mary ?.
They stayed in the area as their son, Robert Battrick, was also born in Langton around 1835/36 and I am looking for his christening as well.

Secondly I am looking for a christening for Thomas Trim who was born circa 1807 at Corfe Castle and his marriage to Caroline Ralls which was before Sep. 1837. Caroline was born in Langton c1811 according to the 1851 census, so her christening would help as well.

Many thanks in advance

1841 entry shows a son Thomas aged 15 plus a a son John aged 9 in addition to Robert aged 5

Allowing for rounding down - Thomas would be the right age for the baptism found above

Rosie99. Many thanks for the links, not only did I find a few more Battricks ( and variants of the name) but I also found Caroline's christening in 1809.
But read on as there is something else!
Mabel Bagshawe. That marriage looks like it's the right one as some of their children had Savage as a second name.
CaroleW. Your info. also ties in with the children's ages.

So many thanks to you all for the details gleaned so far.
With regard to Robert Battrick's christening, there is an entry in Langton for Robert Roe Savage the s/o George and Mary Ann 21/9/1834. Although the surname is given as Savage I think the vicar or curate may have got a bit muddled. And this isn't as 'nebulous' as it seems because when Robert got married he was entered on the register as Robert Rowe Battrick.
I think I may have just received another post so will close for now, but thank you all again, I think I am getting somewhere at last.
