Welsh/Brach family
« on: Sunday 16 December 18 13:33 GMT (UK) »
Thanks to everyone who has helped me so far in the family search!

Can anyone help with info about Mary Brach?

I've found out that John Welsh (1856-1912), born in Avoca, Wicklow, married Mary Brach (1854-1917) who, I believe was also born in Avoca. Two of their children, Patrick (born 1881) and John (born 1873) was definitely born there too and it's possible that Robert (born 1877) might have been.
I've searched a lot of records and can't find anything about Mary Brach, or about her marriage to John Welsh. (might be Walsh, but records vary)
Dorney/Durney; Croke/Croake; Brach, Welsh/Walsh(Ireland) Sherwen; White (Cumbria & Scotland)

No, fairly certain it isn't the Roach family. There is another Walsh family, with mother Roach, who lived down the road from my family, in Cleator. They have the same names, John Walsh is also an iron ore miner and their children have similar names, but they are a lot younger. My family always lived in Frizington, after Ireland, but I got completely side tracked by this for ages.
I found my Annie Mary Walsh birth registration, thanks to Rootschat and I've sent off for it. Mothers maiden name is Brach

I am still in favour of the Roach family.

We have Henry b 1887 with mmn Roach. Is he not your family?

Where did you find the other family with mother Roach?
I can see John and Mary Walsh in Cleator with younger children but they have mmn Ward.
