The marriage:

2099/1921 FRASER Charles R to BROWN Eliza E at CHATSWOOD

So, if you don’t have him in Scotland on the 1911, he arrived Australian sometime between 1901 and 1912.

What was his occupation at time of marriage?

Oops, not a diary but her autograph book given to her by a friend Christmas 1911. An entry dated 10/12/12 by C. R. Fraser reads:

Think of me when you are happy
Think of me when you are not
In the depths of thine affection
Plant me and forget-me-not

Merry Christmas,
Col  :)

Thanks Jamjar, our posts overlapped. Grandad was an apprentice engine fitter in Aberdeen by the 1901 census, which translates to fitter & turner in Australia.

Merry Christmas,

Not sure of WW1 service Jamjar though think I've searched for this before. Believe from what mum recollected once to me that Lila's mum was having trouble holding things together and Lila stepped in to take over for a while. Her dad deserted them and died in 1917 in New York.

Merry Christmas,
Col :)

On the NSW d.c.  does it mention any AIF number?  If known to the informant,  it would often be included on the registration.

Hi JM. No such detail on the death cert deposed by his eldest son. Am thinking he arrived in NSW some 47 yrs before his death which points to 1902, or maybe 1901 after the 1901 Scottish census which placed him in Aberdeen. He remains invisible.

Merry Christmas,
Col  :)

https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/SearchScreens/PassengerSearch.aspx

The NAA has fairly extensive passenger lists for those arriving via Fremantle 1898-way into the 1960s

I cannot see him listed, but I have not tried variations on surname or given name/s
