You just beat NZ! KG Is IOM not self governing, I thought it was???

"Suffrage and beyond. On 19 September 1893 the governor, Lord Glasgow, signed a new Electoral Act into law. As a result of this landmark legislation, New Zealand became the first self-governing country in the world in which women had the right to vote in parliamentary elections."

It's a bone of contention here! ;D
Technically, IOM is a Crown Dependency, and not an independent state as recognised by the UN.
We have our own Government, our own Legal System, but depend on the UK for Defence and Foreign Affairs.

ADDED: And not a part of the United Kingdom!

You can always nick general knowledge questions from Qyuiz Leage sites, such as
http://lanccityquizleague.co.uk/quizzes.html
https://derbyshirepubquizleague.wordpress.com/sample-quizzes/

But how about some genealogical teasers? For instance - which county(ies) do/did the following registration districts cover? Claro, Mutford, Bridge, West Ward, Forden, Alderbury, Wortley, Barkston Ash, Westhamptnett, Uttlesford, Swale, Hoxne etc. (Answers at FreeBMD. Don't give them an actual town, that's too easy)
Skelcey (Skelsey Skelcy Skeley Shelsey Kelcy Skelcher) - Warks, Yorks, Lancs
Hancox - Warks
Green - Warks
Draper - Warks
Lynes - Warks
Hudson - Warks
Morris - Denbs Mont Salop
Davies - Cheshire, North Wales
Fellowes - Cheshire, Denbighshire
Owens - Cheshire/North Wales
Hicks - Cornwall
Lloyd and Jones (Mont)
Rhys/Rees (Mont)

The quiz I organise annually for my genealogy group is just genealogy questions, not general knowledge. Thanks for all the ideas - I'll be back (next year)!
Merry Christmas All

Looking good but Q6 isn't Paddington, who got his name from a station, not a ticket. A handbag was involved.....
