Why do you think he arrived in South Australia in 1852 when he arrived in Victoria in 1857 from Hamburg?
Had he made an earlier previous voyage to South Australia?

To find out more about his shipping record you may need to ask for help from someone who has a different subscription to Ancestry from what I can access.
Also the records are in German, I think.

I can see a possibility for his name as Joh. Hein. WORTMANN arriving Melbourne, but no more available to me.

The section of Ancestry which may hold further information regarding the immigration is
“Hamburg Passenger Lists 1850 1934”. Possibly image etc.

Hi,

Thanks for all the replies, I was just looking for a few more certificates, or ships records to add to a display on the Wortmann family at the Granya Pioneer Museum.

https://granyapioneermuseum.webs.com/

Our local history reads that he arrived sometime in 1851, spent time at Hahndorf in SA before traveling by wagon to Jindera where he met Annie Poppe.

Now we have made things interesting, I will look again on Ancestry and see what I can find of him arriving in Victoria.

Thanks Cando,

I just found it too, thanks to the hints, that looks like the right ship, so our local researchers got it wrong. Mind you this would have been researched 20 years ago when the Museum opened.
Our history says he spent time in Germantown, now known as Hahndorf. Holbrook, which is not far from Jindera, where he met Annie Poppe was known as Germantown up until WW1.

I have attached the misleading information from our book.

Looks like I will have a little extra to add to our display.
