Help with a 1589/90 baptism record
« on: Wednesday 19 December 18 18:16 GMT (UK) »
Here is my take on the three lines of the snippet:

1.                                 xxxxxxxxxx
2. Willyam xxxxx Son of xxx bap xx xxx of February
3. Willyam Gyles Son of Toby xxx xxxx xxxx daye

Can someone help with the blanks.

Many thanks Jen and BB.

Just an idle question - why the different spellings of February? I presume the next header is "Marche"?

Just an idle question - why the different spellings of February?

We have ffebruarye in the heading and ffebruary in the baptism entry. ff is the equivalent of a capital F.

Consistency in spelling was an unknown concept at this date. You will often find the same word spelt several different ways within the same document.
