WOODLEY BROOK  :)  Probate announcement for Henry James WOODLEY

https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/222183310  Govt Gazette,  probate to widow, Sarah Ann

Perhaps the 1858 marriage for a Henry James WOODLEY of Hanging Rock is NOT part of this family.

JM

Do you mean this one, JM?

986/1858 WOODLEY Henry J to MITCHELL Emma SYDNEY

Given that he was supposedly born c1834 and didn’t marry Sarah until 1884, I had been wondering if he had been previously married.

First birth:

12865/1859 WOODLEY EMMA L parents Henry and Emma TAMWORTH

The last birth is in 1864 and then there is this death:

6715/1866 WOODLEY Emma M HENRY and JANE TAMWORTH

I have seen Chezza online a few times today, but no comment has been forthcoming from them.

It appears, if all the found information is correct, that the only link now left to Aboriginal heritage would be through the second marriage of Henry, and therefore through Sarah Robson.

Wonder if that Ancestry tree has something on this?

I’m still curious as to why you think the link may exist. ???

Our OP is online at present.

Perhaps DNA will find an indication of Aboriginal heritage.  I have not found any reason to suggest indulging in that expense... unless there is a non historical event... IF SO,  then perhaps oral history needs to be relied on,  as we don't research living people at RChat.

I believe that these are the deaths of Sarah’s father and his siblings, parents WILLIAM and CHRISTINA:

10754/1906 ROBSON John URALL
11502/1895ROBSON George ARMIDAL
7497/1916 ROBSON William TAMWORTH

They don’t appear to have been born in NSW.

You will find death references to them on Trove.

Thank you everyone for all the information.
I think the Aboriginal ancestry is on the Woodley side.

Thank you again
