logged out of rootschat

Hi,
I stay 'logged in' to rootschat, but yesterday found I needed to re-sign in, found my password which wouldn't work, so reset it this morning via the email for forgotten password.

So is there a reason why I was suddenly logged out?
I usually visit the site daily but don't post every day.

Same here Lisa, I don't log out but the site seems to log me out at random intervals.

Luckily I only have to enter 'C' as the first letter of my username, and the whole log-in including password autocompletes.  It's only a minor nuisance, fortunately for me

I normally stay logged in but If you log out you wish see the form as follows

Username
password
Minutes to stay logged in : there will be a number
always stay logged in and a tick box

just have a look at what your settings are, sorry but you would need to log out to see this information.

thanks Carol, as long as it's a normal occurrence that's ok, I don't recall it happening before, so I was wondering if I'd done something wrong.

thanks Sarah,  I must've set it as stay signed in ages ago and then forgotten how it all works

You may have initiated a clean up routine on your computer or have one that runs automatically. These will normally delete the cookies that allow you to reconnect automatically.

Today the site had logged me out again - second time in about a week - but my username and password were already pre-filled

It's strange, this doesn't happen for weeks/months and I forget about it, then it starts again!  Ah well, no harm done.  Worse things happen at sea

ancestry is regularly signing me out at the moment after not doing so for ages, just one of those things
