Do you know the religion of the family?  This might be helpful in considering baptism place.

With a Samuel and Ann Carter (Ann being born in St. Just Cornwall) are:

Jane Wight  widow sister in law  bc.1840 St Just, Cornwall
John Wight bc.1859 nephew St. Just, Cornwall
Ellen J. Wight bc.1867 niece Cramlington
Elizabeth A. Wight bc.1870 niece Cramlington.

In 1881 they are Samuels ‘daughters’ in East Rainton. RG 11 / 4977/ 10/ 13

Samuel Carter and Ann Harvey married 1850.

If 'Jane Wight' was his sister in law one would assume - since birthplaces the same - that Jane's maiden name was Harvey too.   However, can find that Ann Harvey was baptised 1827 St. Just, dau. of Richard (confirmed on marriage certificate) and Ann BUT they don't appear to have had a daughter named Jane bc.1840.

Also in the 1881 household is an Isaac aged 9 born Cramlington. I can only find one possible birth, Isaac Pierce White, 3rd q. 1872, Tynemouth, no mother’s maiden surname.

That a good find. So she gives her maiden surname on her second marriage as Carter. That ties in with the Carter family she’s with in 1871.
