Free Family Tree

Hi All

I have a situation whereby I had to reset the PC to factory settings last weekend  I saved my tree on to my external HD and a USB   I then had to re install everything

The trouble started when I had to re load the CD Family tree so I could import from the USB or HD

The CD did not want to load and it took 3 hours for me to get it back on to the PC

My question is if this happens again which is quite possible and the Family tree CD wont load  (Family Tree 2012 )  I maybe stuck so can anyone suggest a free down load Family tree that does not have to go on the internet

Has anyone else experienced this problem f so how did they get around it

Legacy is a good free family tree.  Lots of rootschatters use it.  I actually used the paid for version because it has more options to it, but my OH has his tree on the free version.  You can just add your tree by gedcom.  Copy your family tree to gedcom and then after downloading Legacy, just transfer the gedcom file to Legacy.
