There is this 25 yr old Donald Kennedy a labourer who can read and write
Per Aurora, to Geelong, 7 Dec 1848

I cannot work out the place he is from I attach a clip.
Added. kilnally, Inverness?

There is also a 5 yr old Donald arriving  in 1839 with a large group of Kennedys but his parents are Charles and Cora (although he has brother Angus 14)

Kilmallie is the parish in which Fort William is situated. It is not in the county of Argyll and it is not on an island.

Still not an island, and not near Tiree.

The point is just that this Donald Kennedy from Kilmallie who arrived in 1848 isn't the one that fire is looking for, who arrived in 1839 and whose father was from Tiree.

Reply 2 by Colin and Reply 17 by Forfarian would suggest the 1795 entry in Tyree is probably yours:-
Angus Kennedy to John Kennedy, Muirstadt and Ann McLean.
Hopefully you can confirm your Angus's mother's maiden name !

I don't think you are at that stage yet. You need to see those two death certificates to see what else they tell you before you start trying to look for Angus Kennedy's parents. For instance, was the Angus Kennedy who died in 1857 the father of your Donald/husband of Ann McIntyre? How old was he when he died? When did he emigrate to Australia?

There are many people whose baptisms are missing from the surviving records, so you cannot assume, just because there is only one possible candidate, that it is the right person.

How do you know that Charles and Cora Kennedy were the parents of Donald, aged 5? Does the passenger list specifically say so, or could Charles have been a brother or cousin of Angus, bringing Angus' family to join him once he had got himself settled in Australia? Have you found the deaths of Charles and Cora, and if so what do they tell you?

That was me who put up the Charles and Cora parents of Donald.
The passenger list says Donald is their son.

I just posted it because it was the right year  for immigration  incase Angus turned out to be fictitious.  And at that stage you hadn’t posted the potential Angus and Ann deaths.

Ah, yes. I think the plot thickens.

Though there do seem to be lots of mentions in Trove of other Donald Kennedys.
