Thomas Francis Mitchell married Mary Degnan 1903 Chorlton and he is the one I mentioned on the 1911 census.

If your Thomas was born 1883 he would have been 57 when he married in 1940 and his bride ?? 37.
Is he the Warrington marriage?

Do you have the 1940 marriage cert?  What was his fathers name and occupation?

How do you know he worked at Vulcan?

There is no Thomas Francis Mitchell marriage in 1940 so how did you get his middle name?

I wonder if the 1970 death is the person I found in 1911?

The Irish Genealogy site just shows Thomas Mitchell whereas FS entry for 1884 shows Thomas Francis

Hi Carol, yes he was 57 she was 37 he lied about his age on the marriage cert. he was born 1883 in clooncah close to New Inn county Galway as I said before I have only recently found him to be my granddad  I have been in touch with his nephews son who told me where he worked and also received a paper cutting of his obituary with his face on it and that states he worked there and also the hospital. But still trying to find out as much as I can  and a photo of him at the factory would be great. Thanks for the Vulcan bits Sugar.

Sorry - but quite a few things just don’t add up here.

The 1939 entry you quote has a totally different birthdate to the 1970 death you say is your ancestor

If he was born in Galway 1883 and worked there from 1915-1920 - where is he on the 1901 and 1911 Irish censuses as I can’t find any obvious entry

Where did the info come from re his mothers name?  There is an 1881 marriage in Galway for a Bridget Melody but no corresponding match to a Thomas Mitchell
