Whitley Bay library is going to host a 'Ready For Action' event which will explore the world wide experiences of women during WW2 and how they dressed the part as they took up their war time roles.

This is a paying event this time (£8) and I have been told that this is likely to be very popular and the library staff have already been selling tickets to people who are buying these as Christmas presents.

If anyone is interested I would advise booking your ticket as soon as possible as although the event is not until late next year sell-out is likely going to be quick.

I saw Lucy Adlington's WW1 event a few years ago and it was excellent.  Entertaining and informative - she manages to change costume behind a screen while continuing her talk!

If WW1 was anythng to go by WW11 will be well worth £8.

Thanks for the endorsement Christine!

I think we are very fortunate here in Tyneside that our libraries are always putting on such good events.

Merry Christmas! :)
