Frederick Brown 10005 was a private in the Essex Regiment (1914 Star) but then shown as Acting Sergeant before being transferred to the 10th Worcester Regiment and recorded as Corporal, 37950.

Medical records show him as aged 21 in 1915, still a Private.

The obituary does give his full names and state he was a Sergeant in The Essex regt, no mention of the Worcester regt.

The LLT indicates that 10005 enlisted pre war sometime in 1913. Is this a likely fit for your man?
