He is listed in AIR 78 with the service number you have - and annotated as a Militia Man.

AIR 78 contains a few misplaced cards - and his is one of them - look top left of the first page listing Muriel Dawson

Thank you for that. For some reason he is not coming up. With Muriel Dawson all I get are people from WW1.

For anything else you need to apply for his service record - everything else online or from other posters is "best guess" like the red herring of commission and not enough digits in service number
