Can't read name on bap record
« on: Thursday 27 December 18 20:51 GMT (UK) »
I just can't decipher my 4x Great Grandmother's surname. It's a 1833 baptism record for Beragh, County Tyrone. It's the line that starts 28. It is in Latin.

B Elleanoram de Patricio Kelly a Margarita S?????. (Ellenor is the daughter of Patrick Kelly and Margaret but I want Margaret's surname). Ancestry deciphers the surname as Stars but I just can't see that surname around anywhere. I see that there is a second line where someone called Francisco has the same surname but I still can't read it. I guess the second line here shows the other people attending or godparents? They are shown as being from nearby Usnagh.

The baptism of Margaret Kelly in January 1842 has the same mother but that had been transcribed as Clary. :-\
It isn’t though.

There are quite a lot of Karrs. (Transcribed as Karr anyway)

It is very difficult. My first thought was Morrissey or similar as Sinann suggested.
There are references to Francis Karr in the registers but I am not sure that the name is that either.

That makes more sense. One of the records I looked at the family had their residence as Radergan which is the next townland.
