You could check out potential marriages at Christchurch Tynemouth by working backwards from here (i.e. the earliest baptism found by Rosie)
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-DZ7S-CMD?i=73&wc=9K53-SP8%3A13617901%2C30809801%2C30809802&cc=1309819

The pages become rather more difficult to read the earlier back you go  ::)

I'm sure you already appreciate that Jobling could also be shown as Jopling, Joplin or Joblin.

You might also want to check out later marriages for Joblings too on this link.  Church code 'C1' is Christ Church.

I have added a photo of the Church I took a while back.

Thanks to all

I am looking at the church records now Jen.
I go for a cataract operation in the middle of January so I am using my supersized magnifying glass.
:)
I will also check your link RiverTyne and have bookmarked it for future use.

Thanks to everyone for your kindness and help

Jim

One to put on the back burner.

Marriage at Hebburn St Cuthbert, 8th January 1776, Edward Jobling and Ann Grey.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-67DD-M4?i=8&wc=9K53-T3L%3A13617901%2C22458002%2C22458003&cc=1309819

Please do note this is Hebburn in Northumberland, also known as Hebron https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/NBL/Hebburn
It's not the Hebburn in County Durham,

I found this marriage on Ancestry's records and was wondering if it is a possible
Its 29 miles from Tynemouth
Name:   Edward Jobling
Gender:   Male
Marriage Date:   8 Jan 1776
Marriage Place:   Whitley (near Hexham), Northumberland, England
Spouse:   Anne Gray
Search Photos:   Search for 'Whitley (near Hexham), Northumberland, England' in the UK City, Town and Village Photos collection

I am slowly going through the Tynemouth records also.  I note the further back you get some of the pages are cut off.

That’s very strange, as it’s exactly the same couple and same date as the Hebburn/Hebron marriage I mentioned in reply #8

This is the source info for the second one I mentioned.  I never noticed they were the same and now upon looking the only difference other than being far away from each other is the brides last name spelling  Gray and Grey

Place: Whitley (near Hexham), Northumberland, England; Collection: St Helen; -; Date Range: 1754 - 1788; Film Number: 1068646

I think this is an indexing error.

The film number is 1068646. The records for Hebburn and Whitley Chapel both appear on this one film. https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&query=%2Bfilm_number%3A1068646

I think the marriage has been mistakenly indexed against both parishes.

The marriage is definitely shown on the Bishops Transcripts for Hebburn see the link in reply #8

Thank you Jen

I have ignored the one and put the Hebron marriage as the possible.
