RESTORATION PLEASE - VAL MALONEY
« on: Saturday 29 December 18 05:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I have a photograph of my deceased mother-in-law when she was a little girl - born 1913 died 1989.
I have included a photo of the back of the image, the front, one showing two pictures side by side for comparison. Would love and appreciate it if someone could join her together again and give me an approximate dazte..
Thanks so much.
Cheers,
Di

Good morning all from wet Crib Point, Victoria,
I attached 3 photos - are you not allowed to do that.
Will try and attach them with this post. Ummm, I didn't read the instructions too well, claiming a senior moment.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Cheers,
Di

Regarding a date for your lovely photo, one resource I looked at said that the Kodak Austral stamp-box with the cross in all four corners was in use from 1916 till as late as 1940... so not a big help. My (inexpert) impression would be early to mid 1930s - but wait for the experts.

Anyway, here's my effort at a restore. :)

Hi Peter,

That is fantastic - thank you so much. My brother in law will love it.

I think 1930s is too late - she was married in 1937 and didn't look anything like this photo.

I was hoping for something like 1916/17/18 because I think she is very young in this photo. Just my opinion.

Thank once again, it's great.
Cheers,
Di

You're very welcome, Di. You'll probably get more restores while we Aussies sleep - it's a lovely photo. And I'm sure more expert dating people will zero in on a date for you.
Cheers,
Peter
