Census info for Bakers in London 1851 and 1861
« on: Saturday 29 December 18 10:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi there,

I posted on here some time ago regarding tracing my family back further and got some really helpful information which I was able to take away and research further but I am now back again for more help.

I have traced one of my ancestors Frederick Baker and have all of his information moving forwards, he was fostered, married, I know his children etc.. but its going back that I need more help. I have obtained his birth certificate and have an address at birth, so i wondered if it was possible to get any census information on that address in both 1851 and 1861 (I know he was not living there on those dates as he was not born in 1851 and had been "fostered" in 1861)

His details are Frederick Baker, born 1858 and on his birth certificate he lived at 14 Upper North Street, Islington.

It is the details of his parents Wallis Baker (perhaps known as John) and Ann Baker that I would like to find more information about.

Ann may have been a widow when she married (I have the maiden name Layton) but I understand any marriage certificate may show a different name.

Is it possible to find census info for 14 Upper North Street, Islington in both 1851 and 1861 with the head of household having the surname Baker? or if not a name of people who lived there so I can rule this out?

Any help would be great and thank you in advance.

James

Ahhhh  :-[

Thank you for that though, I know they lived there in 1858 and was hoping they were perhaps there 7 years prior or 3 years after.

Thank you, any help like this is great as I’m stuck.

I really want to find Wallis (perhaps known as John) Baker who could be their dad.
