Dorset Family History Society's Monthly Meeting
« on: Saturday 29 December 18 16:48 GMT (UK) »
Dorset Family History Society will be meeting on Monday 11th March 2019 at St John’s Church Centre Hall, Ashley Road (opposite Waitrose), Upper Parkstone, Poole, BH14 0AA.

Doors open at 19.30 for 20.00 start.  Entry is £2 to include refreshments.

HOWARD NICHOLS will be giving an interesting talk entitled ‘BLUE AND WHITE RACERS OF POOLE SPEEDWAY’.

From humble beginnings to now being one of the leading clubs in the world the success of ‘Poole Pirates’ Speedway Club is perhaps less well known and located on our doorstep. With the help of the riders and those behind the scenes, Howard has put together this presentation of Poole's famous club.

Howard, himself a supporter of the Pirates for over 50 years, returns to us from his travels, after last year giving us the story of another local famous success story, though now sadly ended, Poole Pottery.

EVERYONE WELCOME
