Dorset Family History Society's Monthly Meeting
« on: Saturday 29 December 18 16:55 GMT (UK) »
Dorset Family History Society will be meeting on Monday 8th April 2019 at St John’s Church Centre Hall, Ashley Road (opposite Waitrose), Upper Parkstone, Poole, BH14 0AA.

Doors open at 19.30 for 20.00 start.  Entry is £2 to include refreshments.

JANET FEW will be giving an interesting talk entitled ‘20th CENTURY FAMILY HISTORY - SOME SOURCES FOR TRACING FAMILIES IN THE LAST CENTURY’.

The 20th Century is often neglected as being “not really history”, but there is plenty to be discovered about individuals and communities between 1900 and 1945. This era brings difficulties of larger and more mobile populations and closed records. Janet will help with sources to bring these recent ancestors to life.

Janet is currently leader of the North Devon Family History Society and Vice President of the Isle of Wight FHS, returning to talk to us. She has been involved in local and family history for around five decades, teaching, writing, talking and helping others.

EVERYONE WELCOME
