Many thanks everyone for the restores and the comments... certainly giving me some ideas... unfortunately I am no closer to identification, however I love the photographs and the restores give me much better clarity.

Yes, I have checked other photos of the family both in my possession and on-line, but nothing definite has come to the fore... others have tried to identify before me too. The photos were discovered in a trunk with letters to and from the VICKERY family members, so the assumption is that there is a connection... just like my FOLLAND diary, there will be questions that will go unanswered, I'm afraid.
