Hit a brick wall - help!
« on: Monday 31 December 18 01:42 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to trace the parents of GEORGE E WALKER born 1 March 1903. He married AGNES HAYWOOD born 11 Feb 1909. They married in June 1926 in Birmingham. They went on to have children EDWARD in 1926 and DOROTHY in 1931.

They were both born in Birmingham. I don't know if the family originates from Birmingham any further back though. I checked the GRO website for GEORGE E WALKER and it came  back with no mother maiden name.

I think Agnes' parents were AGNES COLLINS and EDWARD HAYWOOD, but I'm just starting to look more into this at the moment.

I seem to have hit a brick wall going any further back on the WALKER side. I have reason to believe there is possibly some other heritage in the family somewhere along the line, but I'm researching for a friend who is adopted, so they have extremely limited knowledge.

What is his father’s name, from marriage certificate?

How do you know he was born in Birmingham?

Do UK death certs have both parent’s names?

I literally have very limited info, only the info I can find via the usual websites. No certificates. The 1939 register and birth index for Agnes. The 1939 register for George.

Can’t be the same as

. He married AGNES HAYWOOD born 11 Feb 1909.

Unless that dob is incorrect

True, but it’s the only Agnes in BIRMINGHAM I can see.

I can’t see a George to fit with his birthdate either.
